Congratulations!
Gustav Schickedanz
owner of
Woodcarver
The last Queens Plate for this millennium
featured a win for a thoroughbred raised, trained, and raced on
Masterfeeds products. Woodcarver, under the care of trainer Mike
Keogh, carried jockey Mickey Walls to a decisive victory in a time
of 2:03 for the 1 1/4 mile classic at Woodbine Racetrack.
This striking grey colt sired by Woodman, mare Sharpening Up, was
foaled and raised at Gustav Schickedanzs Schomberg Farm, managed by
Lauri Kenny.
From day one to Queens Plate day, Woodcarver has only been fed
Masterfeeds products. Equine Developer, DRC Race horse oats,
Masterfeeds 20% horse supplement and now Original Extractor Race
Ration are all part of the successful feeding program he has
experienced.
Masterfeeds, Queensville Farm Supply and Triple Crown Feeds would
like to congratulate owner Gustav Schickedanz, Mike Keogh, Lauri
Kenny, farm manager and jockey, Mickey Walls.
Masterfeeds is proud to be a part of this performance by Woodcarver
as he carries on our legacy of supplying feed to the raising and/or
racing of the Queens plate winners since 1956.
The tradition of quality continues at Masterfeeds.
Unfortunately in mid September Woodcarver suffered an injury while
training at Woodbine. The injury resulted in Woodcarver having to be euthanized.
