 Masterfeeds
rations are available in grains, sweet feeds, pellets, cubed and extruded
forms. Each of these offers specific benefits as highlighted below.
Horse Oats
Masterfeeds sets the
standard when it comes to quality oats. We use only top quality Western
Canada select oats that meet specific requirements when it comes to size,
colour and weight. The oats are Double Re-Cleaned and aspirated to ensure
all dust is and removed and then bagged as either DRC Horse Oats or Saddle
Horse Oats, based on their size. When you select horse oats from
Masterfeeds you are assured of getting the highest quality, and heaviest
dust-free oat available.
Pellets
Masterfeeds has the ration
for horses in a cost efficient manner with our various horse feed pellets.
Horses can be picky eaters and any separation of ingredients during
feeding may mean that a horse is not receiving the right amount of a
particular nutrient. Pellets eliminate this potential problem because the
ingredients are all contained in a pallitable and easily digested form.
Pellets contain all the necessary protein, energy, minerals and vitamins
and provide a good level of fibre to aid digestion.
Texturized Feeds
These texturized
feeds are designed to contain the correct balance of protein and energy
combined with the required minerals and vitamins. Masterfeeds utilizes
molasses along with pellets and grain to increase palatability. The result
is a quality, dust free, attractive looking feed that meets the
nutritional need of the pleasure horse when fed along with hay or pasture,
Cubes
Masterfeeds horse cubes are
an ideal way to ensure a horse is getting all the required nutrients. The
size of the cubes promotes chewing and that ultimately aids in digestion.
Cubes are a great way to supply added nutrients for gestation and
lactation periods in breeding horses. Cubes fit well into the diet of a
horse that may not have access to sufficient quality hay or grass to
maintain good development. They’re the best choice for weight gain. For
geriatric horses, the cube is an excellent feed choice,
Extruded Feeds
Extrusion expands
the volume of the ration. Masterfeeds extruded rations increase the
nutrient availability and provide a readily available source of energy,
while slowing down the eating process to reduce the risk of
over-consumption. Dust is also reduced by extruding, and the shelf life of
the feeds is increased. Although extruded feeds take longer to manufacture
than other types of feed and are therefore more expensive, they, provide
the ultimate in nutritional quality. They are an excellent choice for
mares, foals, weanlings and performance horses.
